The sacred Rose. Original artwork. An alchemical journey into the times and style of different of cultures from around the world. A figure makes his way through a landscape of perspective and sacred geometry and fragmenting patterns. The Rose represents the sacred link that all cultures have in common, the sacred unfolding of the center. A short video of the drawing process of my latest work. For this drawing i used a wide range of materials from pencil, watercolor, inks and spray paint.

One of the most commonly recognized symbols in literature and art is the rose. Throughout history, the rose has been used to represent a multitude of meanings, from love and passion to beauty and youth. In many cultures, the rose is revered as a symbol of purity and perfection, often being associated with the Virgin Mary or other divine figures. The intricate and delicate nature of the rose also symbolizes the complexities of human emotions, with its thorns representing the pain and hardships of life.

In addition to its symbolic significance, the rose is also a popular motif in various works of art and literature. Its vibrant colors and exquisite scent make it a favorite subject for poets, painters, and musicians alike. In William Shakespeare’s famous play, “Romeo and Juliet”, the rose is used as a symbol of love and desire between the two star-crossed lovers. Similarly, in Greek mythology, the rose is associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty.

Furthermore, the rose is often used as a metaphor for personal growth and transformation. As the rosebud blooms into a full, beautiful flower, it can symbolize the journey from innocence to maturity. This theme is often explored in coming-of-age stories, where characters undergo significant changes and emerge stronger and wiser. Overall, the rose’s symbolism resonates with people on a deep and emotional level, making it a timeless and enduring symbol in literature and art.
